Boerum Hill Fitness Trainer on How to Beat
the Obstacles on Your Weight Loss Program

When trying to achieve any important goal in life, such as a fitness program, obstacles are bound to pop up.  As a fitness trainer in Boerum Hill, I have coached countless clients to help them overcome their fitness obstacles.

If you have just decided to begin a program to get healthy, you can start planning ahead for the challenges you will face.  How you work around these pitfalls can well determine whether you succeed or fail in your endeavor.  In my Boerum Hill fitness training business, I have observed that there are 4 common obstacles that many people face.  I will talk about each one and provide my expert opinion on how to deal with these on your own.

Boredom - When you do the same workout and eat the same things everyday it will certainly get tiresome.  In the realm of food, the easiest way to incorporate variety is to change the vegetables and spices you use in your favorite recipes.  For example, if you are bored with your egg-white omelets in the morning, you can substitute onions for bell peppers or tomatoes.  Or try using Caribbean jerk seasoning in your chicken veggie stir-fry for a change.  Considering spices have almost no calories, you can experiment with them to your heart’s content.

With exercise it is important to have several activities to do so you don’t bet bored and lose motivation.  Alternating a weight training program with cardio like cycling or dance classes is a good idea to also use your muscles differently and have a more rounded workout.  Boerum Hill fitness trainers can help keep your workouts interesting and challenging.

Family and Friends - You may feel all alone in your fitness training program, because often friends and family seem oblivious to the difficulties you are facing.  Remember they are not trying to maliciously get in your way- they just don’t realize that they are causing you pain by offering you lasagna or distracting you when it’s time to work out.  Talking to them about your goals and how they can help will easily change this situation for the better.
Lack of time – This is the excuse that I have heard the most as a fitness trainer, for why my clients don’t exercise and eat unhealthily.  They always say they are too busy to go to the gym or even cook for themselves, resorting to high-calorie take-out food instead.

Making appointments to be with a Boerum Hill fitness trainer regularly to work out is how you can make the time to exercise.  If you really can’t block that time, then do your best to squeeze in pockets of exercise into your day, like taking the stairs instead of the elevator.  You can also take short walks around your building during breaks.  A lot of people prefer to use a treadmill while watching their evening TV.  You can also involve your significant other by taking brisk walks in the park together.  Just moving your body consistently this way will help on your program.

Lack of Motivation – People give up on weight loss programs when they don’t see results quickly.  As a Boerum Hill fitness trainer I always tell my clients to keep a journal where they record their food intake, workouts completed, and their weight and measurements each week.  Seeing the incremental changes each week is proof that your program is really working, even if it doesn’t seem like it all the time.
