New York Fitness Trainer on Common Fitness
Obstacles and How to Overcome Them

Anyone who has tried to lose weight knows that doing so can be very challenging.  In my many years as a fitness trainer in New York I have coached innumerable people overcome every obstacle that you can think of.

If you have started a program to become more physically fit, you can expect to encounter many difficulties along the way.  What you do to solve these problems will determine whether you succeed or fail in achieving your weight loss goals.  From my experience in my New York fitness training business, I have observed four essential and common obstacles that I had to help my clients overcome.  I will talk about each and some of the best things you can do to resolve them.

Boredom – People simply get tired of the same routine, whether it is with their diet or their workout.  About food, I can say that there are many ways to change up your favorite recipes.  For instance, add some onions, tomatoes, or bell peppers to your egg whites and keep alternating the vegetables.  Your basic chicken and vegetable stir fry will come to life with some spice, such as jerk seasoning – for a Caribbean twist.  Remember that spices have next to no calories, so be liberal with them and bring your recipes to life.

When it comes to your workout, it is important to have some variety or you will surely lose motivation to do it.  Alternating between activities will keep you interested and also make your workouts more effective, because you are using muscles in different ways.  New York fitness trainers can help plan workouts with a lot of variety and challenge.

Family and Friends – If family members and friends have not tried a fitness training program themselves in the past, they are not likely to be sensitive to your needs.  It may even sometimes look like they are purposely sabotaging your program, by offering you fatty dishes like lasagna or asking you to spend time with them during workout time.  Once you have spoken to those you love about your goals, they would be more than happy to support you in any way they can.

No time – “I don’t have time” is probably the foremost excuse that I have heard as a fitness trainer, for why people don’t eat right or exercise.  They complain about being too busy to go to a gym, or even cook a healthy meal.  As a result, they remain sedentary and eat high-calorie takeout.

Making that appointment to be somewhere to work with a New York fitness trainer creates the time for exercise.  If you truly believe it is impossible, then the next best thing would be to fit the exercise into your daily routine.  You could purchase a treadmill and use it while watching evening TV.  Make the most of your time with a girlfriend or boyfriend by taking brisk walks together every other day.  You can even take walks around the office during breaks.  Any activity done consistently will help you on your weight loss program.
Frustration – Nobody would stick with a program if they thought it wasn’t working.  As a New York fitness trainer my new clients tell me that they quit their old programs because they felt they weren’t getting the results they expected.  The best way to address this to keep a fitness journal, where you would document your changes in weight and measurements, as well as any workout milestones.  This would be proof of your progress, even if you aren’t feeling it yet.
